It's transfer season in high school lacrosse, with these six rising juniors having confirmed new schools. Three are obvious impact additions, while the other three have flown under the radar and could emerge as dark-horse contributors for their new programs. Let's take a look at six 2028 impact transfers from every region of the country.

One of the faces of the Midwest in the 2028 class is headed to Seattle Prep. Old has solidified himself as one of the top lefties in a class known for its depth at the position. Since I evaluated him last year, the added nuances in his game point to the development Resolute has provided through winter box lacrosse. The play that first stood out came at Showtime, when Old used a hard windup to set up a face dodge. That move alone is not unusual for a field player. Still, the way he uses that windup to disguise not only his dodges, but also his shots and feeds, makes him incredibly difficult to defend—especially with the quick release that defenses have to respect.

Another noticeable part of his game has been his ability to score under pressure and in tight. On the run, he can free his hands even when the opportunity is not promising. Inside, his combination of soft hands and deception around the cage has been impressive. The pairing of Old and Brady Meehan gives Seattle Prep two high-level lefty attackmen, and it will be interesting to see how that combination looks this spring.

The addition of Aiden Owens and Jack Lotche is an insane haul for the Bullis defense, and newly hired head coach Nic Bell has not stopped there. Owens is about as disruptive as it gets for a close defender. On the ball, he should immediately become Bullis' No. 1 option down low because he has the length and strength to smother matchups. If you watch his spring tape, Owens looks like a man amongst boys in the MAC. He is an absolute bully defensively. St. James even had a man-up look designed to utilize his stepdown shot from deep.

This summer, his one-on-one reps were limited because teams would dodge on him once and quickly decide it was better to attack elsewhere. When opponents did choose to go at him, though, his footwork stood out. I didn't expect a player his size to move his feet as well as he does. Off the ball is where Owens was able to show even more when teams avoided him. He was always ready to convert on backside doubles, got his stick into passing lanes, and seemed to be there whenever his team needed someone to scoop up a loose ball around the crease.

It was hard for McDonogh to find a spot for Walsh, especially with Hunter Metz, arguably the best player in the MIAA, occupying the lefty wing where Walsh is most comfortable. Walsh looked right at home at that spot for Choate during NHSLS, connecting a couple of times with Hilltop teammate Michael Bruketta.

Walsh is a lefty, slasher-type player who can make things happen both with and without the ball. From the left wing, he has a box-player feel to his game, inviting defenders to overplay his top hand before getting underneath and reaching to finish from tough, low angles. His on-the-run shooting and diverse dodge package really set him apart. He delivers a smooth sidearm/three-quarter release on the run, particularly when defenses allow him to get to the middle of the field. You can really see Walsh's dodging ability when he initiates from behind the cage or the high wing. He loves to open possessions with a skipping split dodge, and has the rockers and swims to free his hands when needed.

Seton Hall Prep added some depth to its face-off room with Assuncao, who went 71% at the stripe and added 22 goals at St. Joseph last spring. He had a fantastic showing at Naptown with the Hawks, going against some of the top face-off guys in the class. At the X, he thrives with quick moves, but what makes him great is the way he scraps for groundballs. Even when he loses a face-off in the stat book, he might still end up winning the possession because he is such a competitor. He hustles to apply pressure and is willing to strap up and play competitive defense. He is also no slouch on offense. He is a natural lefty with some crafty dodges and finishes on the move, plus a smooth underhand stepdown release that you do not see often from face-off specialists.

Chapa is staying in the region and transferring to Midwest powerhouse Western Reserve. He has face-off roots and ability, but I was really impressed with how he played as an SSDM this summer. He checked all the boxes you look for in a quality SSDM. His feet looked great against quick change-of-direction dodgers, and he has the hard jams and crowbar moves to be disruptive. I also liked his ability to push transition and how he plays off the wings on face-offs. The most impressive part of his game is how he moves in the clear and the way he secures groundballs. At the New Balance Games, he had several plays that showed his natural movement to escape pressure.

Transferring from one southern state to another, Engledow will give IMG some depth at the X. He looked solid at Main Stage while going against some of the best in the country and held his own at NHSLS. He is a smaller FOGO who relies heavily on his pinch and quick exits. His exits stand out because he is extremely nimble, which allows him to get out from all angles. When the ball is loose, his quickness also shows up. Even if he does not pick it up himself, he will get there to apply pressure. His confidence with the ball stands out; he is good under pressure and not afraid to run through the middle of the defense and score if you don't pick him up.
