<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>On Saturday, Broadneck (MD) traveled from Annapolis to Delaware County, Pennsylvania for a matchup with the defending Pennsylvania 3A state champion, Springfield.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Springfield led this game 3-1 after the 1st quarter, and it appeared this was going to be another competitive Maryland vs. Philly contest. Then, Springfield exploded for five goals in the second quarter. Senior attackman [player_tooltip player_id='173775' first='AJ' last='Clark'] scored twice in that stanza. Sophomore midfielder [player_tooltip player_id='142306' first='Gabe' last='Ryan'], along with senior attackman Jared Kennedy, also posted goals in that 2nd quarter.  </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Meanwhile, the Cougars' defense held Broadneck scoreless in that stanza, and suddenly Springfield led 8-1 at halftime. In the second half, Springfield never took their foot off the gas and cruised to a 13-4 victory.  </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Below is review of the prospects who impressed during the Broadneck (MD) at Springfield (PA) game.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Broadneck</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:acf/evaluation-block {"name":"acf/evaluation-block","data":{"player_evaluations_0_player":["82308"],"_player_evaluations_0_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations":1,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"preview","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-69bf1c4a020de"} --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"placeholder":"Add evaluation here...","className":"text-gray-700"} --> <p class="text-gray-700">Broadneck was on defense plenty in this contest, and Shaw was the anchor for that unit. This Harvard commit impressed with his ability to shadow ball carriers for long stretches. When the opportunity presented itself, Shaw caused turnovers via heavy stick checks and crafty pokes. His length and imposing frame created issues for Springfield's offensive players. Shaw also jammed up passing lanes with his stick, which generated a couple of deflections. The Crimson staff will love the ground ball skills he displayed in this game.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block --> <!-- wp:acf/evaluation-block {"name":"acf/evaluation-block","data":{"player_evaluations_0_player":["165664"],"_player_evaluations_0_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations":1,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"preview","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-69bf1c4a02163"} --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"placeholder":"Add evaluation here...","className":"text-gray-700"} --> <p class="text-gray-700">Running with Shaw on defense was this athletic, solidly built pole with an active stick and a physical edge. Boone (Michigan commit) did a tremendous job of getting into ball carriers early in their dodge and throwing them off their intended path. He also caused a few turnovers with physical body/shoulder checks. His ability to find and secure a ground ball in heavy traffic was remarkable. Boone impressed with timely slides and double teams, too.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Springfield</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:acf/evaluation-block {"name":"acf/evaluation-block","data":{"player_evaluations_0_player":["173775"],"_player_evaluations_0_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations":1,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"preview","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-69bf1c4a021fb"} --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"placeholder":"Add evaluation here...","className":"text-gray-700"} --> <p class="text-gray-700">This season, Clark is one of the offensive players expected to help replace the loss of all-everything attackman Pat Flaherty (115 points in 2025; Maryland) to graduation. In Springfield's season opener, Clark quickly proved that he is ready to handle that challenge as he notched a hat trick before halftime and recorded 4 goals and an assist overall. This talented lefty was simply unstoppable. He beat defenders 1v1 with his quick burst for goals. Clark also worked off-ball for catch and finish goals. Plus, Clark sniped one from 10 yards out after he had snatched a rebound out of the air. 2026 is going to be a monster season for Clark.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block --> <!-- wp:acf/evaluation-block {"name":"acf/evaluation-block","data":{"player_evaluations_0_player":["129568"],"_player_evaluations_0_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations":1,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"preview","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-69bf1c4a02276"} --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"placeholder":"Add evaluation here...","className":"text-gray-700"} --> <p class="text-gray-700">This stock rising 2028 got his first start on Saturday and was incredible between the pipes. The stat book recoded eight saves for Depetris, but it seemed like he stopped significantly more shots. Depetris was especially sharp and poised early in the 1st quarter when he made saves on several quality looks by Broadneck. Two items that popped about Depetris were his athleticism and aggressiveness. He will not hesitate to venture out of the crease to track down GBs and then move the ball upfield himself. College coaches will also like the way Depetris constantly communicated with his defensive unit.    </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block --> <!-- wp:acf/evaluation-block {"name":"acf/evaluation-block","data":{"player_evaluations_0_player":["142306"],"_player_evaluations_0_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":["override_image"],"_player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_0_player_featured_image":154899,"_player_evaluations_0_player_featured_image":"field_62f141137ead9","player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations":1,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"preview","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-69bf1c4a022c9"} --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"placeholder":"Add evaluation here...","className":"text-gray-700"} --> <p class="text-gray-700">Ryan started the scoring in this contest when he got downhill form up top, blew past his defender, ran down a wide-open middle of the field and then fired a shot into the net. This athletic midfielder with polished stick skills added another goal in the 2nd quarter and also handed out an assist. Ryan did fantastic job of initiating from up top as well as the wing and maintaining possession as he ran through stick checks. His field vision and polished stick skills were displayed on a handful of timely passes he delivered.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block --> <!-- wp:acf/evaluation-block {"name":"acf/evaluation-block","data":{"player_evaluations_0_player":["175504"],"_player_evaluations_0_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":["override_image"],"_player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_0_player_featured_image":175510,"_player_evaluations_0_player_featured_image":"field_62f141137ead9","player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations":1,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"preview","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-69bf1c4a02347"} --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"placeholder":"Add evaluation here...","className":"text-gray-700"} --> <p class="text-gray-700">Rush is a multi-sport athlete who is a standout wrestler, too. On the lacrosse field, Rush is a dominating face-off specialist, and he opened the 2026 season by winning 11/17 draws against Broadneck. Rush's clean wins and ability to explode away from the face-off dot kept Springfield playing downhill all day. His quick reaction times and powerful clamps were the keys to Rush's success on Saturday. The agile and gritty Rush also chased down several loose balls in traffic to secure wins. Rush is a high-IQ FOGO who repeatedly made plays against Broadneck that proved he valued possession.  </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
