Expert Analysis

Parrett walked away from the event with Game MVP honors, and if it were possible, he just as easily could have been named the best defender at the event, too. An absolute demon off the ground, I lost count of how many groundballs Parrett corralled, though P9’s final stats showed that he finished the day with seven groundballs, a goal, and a caused turnover. His stick work is impeccable: every groundball was on the first try, and every long pass was right on the money. The Army commit plays fundamentally sound defense, but with his elite hands and stick, he can put the ball on the ground with regularity and generally make life difficult for anybody who dodges him. The Black Knights have recruited at a very high level on the defensive end of the field in recent cycles, and Parrett looks the part of a player who could be ready to see significant minutes early and often.

earned US Lacrosse All-American (NC-Western) & 1st Team All-State (NCLCA 4A) in 2024. He was named the Metro Conference Player of the Year & Defensive MVP for the Vikings. Tre received 2nd Team All-State (NCLCA 4A) as a freshman in 2023. He is a full-court press type of pole who can also mix it up on the draw. Parrett is a hovering presence in coverage & makes it look easy to put the ball on the ground. He can throw subtle checks that create yardsales. Tre has a smooth stick & picks up groundballs with a high degree of difficulty. He is a glorious hustler who does not quit. Parrett can produce offense with multiple attempts as he has an unrelenting motor between the lines. He throws accurate passes to his teammates while also knowing how & when to pull it for himself. A consensus 4-star prospect. Verbally committed to the Army.

Parrett got on my radar after he made the Maverik Showtime All-Star Game, which has been the first and only time that I watch the rising sophomores during the summer, and he’s been excellent ever since. In October, the athletic 6-footer was one of the best defensemen at the IL ID Experience and put together an impressive all-around showing against strong competition. His stick skills really stood out, as Parrett threw some brilliant clearing passes that were right on the money and was a huge asset in that area of the game. It’s clear that he’s been coached well, too. Parrett’s on point with his approach and plays superb position defense, and when need be, he’s also disruptive with his checks, sending an opponent’s stick helicoptering into the air at one point.
