With a lightning-quick first step and top-end speed, which he demonstrated with a 1.03 in his Flying Ten and a top speed of 19.86 miles per hour, Batchelder can blow by defenders with ease. His ability to create separation when dodging is unmatched, and his explosive acceleration makes him a nightmare in transition and in settled offense. A versatile, two-handed player with exceptional stick skills, he’s able to navigate through defenses with precision and finesse. Batchelder’s high lacrosse IQ allows him to read the game and make smart decisions under pressure, while his relentless motor ensures that he’s always working to make an impact on both ends of the field. Batchelder earned significant playing time as a sophomore for a loaded Belmont Hill team that went on to win the ISL championship in 2024. Always at the end of plays, his off-ball prowess shined through, as did his two-handedness, IQ, and ability to make things happen off the invert. Incredibly fast and sudden in his movements, Batchelder habitually beat his man off the dodge all summer. Even when opponents knew he was rolling back, they were unable to slow him down, and he often finished with flair. Now that several of Belmont Hill’s top contributors on offense have moved on to play college lacrosse, expect Batchelder to see an increased role with the ball in his stick in 2025.
