Expert Analysis
Carey Smith | Prep Lacrosse Scout
Over the last five month of lacrosse action, Sinnes has established himself as one of the top 2028 LSMs in New Jersey. For example, last spring Sinnes caused 62 turnovers and vacuumed up 57 ground balls. Plus, Sinnes contributed 14 goals and 9 assists at the offensive end. In short, Sinnes is an athletic and speedy pole with polished stick skills who can impact every facet of the game. Sinnes is a master at securing ground balls on face offs or in the defensive zone and then quickly turning up field to trigger a transition opportunity. Once Sinnes is below the restraining line, he will not hesitate to fire on net. He is effective as a trail shooter on the fast break too. Defensively, Sinnes is a suffocating on-ball defender who arrives early and then aggressively pressures his opponent’s hands. Sinnes will use slaps, pokes, lifts, and trail checks to cause turnovers. He also will not hesitate to mix in a healthy dose of physicality to separate the ball from his man. Sinnes is a high IQ pole who does a fantastic job of communicating with teammates as well as navigating his way over or through screens.

After a breakout sophomore campaign during which he scored 13 goals and snagged 50 groundballs, Sinnes then played outstanding lacrosse on the June circuit. Thus, I would humbly suggest that college coaches scout his games here in July and take some notes. Sinnes is an athletic, fleet-footed, and highly skilled pole who can impact a game at both ends of the field. He is especially adept at turning defensive stops as well as GBs into transition opportunities. Once he gets deep into the offensive end, Sinnes’ filthy stick skills make him a legitimate threat to fire a missile into the back of the net. Defensively, the agile Sinnes is a menacing on-ball presence who will harass opponents with slaps, pokes, and lifts until they commit a turnover. Sinnes also excels at sprinting out of the box, locating the ball and then shutting down the opposing team’s fast break. In 6v6 action, Sinnes is a high-IQ team defender who stays connected with his teammates.

Sinnes has been consistently productive all fall for Leading Edge and checks every box you want in an LSM. He covers well defensively, scoops groundballs on faceoffs, plays aggressively between the lines, and generates a lot of good looks in transition. He’s listed in the 5’11 range for height (for now), but he plays bigger than that, using his pole well to generate takeaways and get into passing lanes consistently.
His intangibles stand out, but it’s his fundamentals that will really have college coaches calling on September 1st. He’s constantly communicating on defense, positions himself well off ball, and understands when to throw a home-run check versus when to stay in front. Sinnes is the kind of LSM who quietly does a lot of things right—and those guys always find a way onto college rosters.
