About Evan
Expert Analysis
Niko Amato | Prep Lacrosse Scout
A left-handed, all-around defender, Evan March has quickly established himself as a dynamic presence for St. Paul’s. With length, quick feet, and a keen sense for timing, he disrupts offensive schemes while creating opportunities for his teammates. Whether applying pressure on-ball, anticipating passes, or reading cutters off the perimeter, Evan blends instinct with technique to control the flow of play.
March made an immediate impact for the Crusaders as a freshman in 2024, recording 47 ground balls and 21 caused turnovers. He built on that as a sophomore in 2025 with 58 ground balls and 19 caused turnovers, turning loose balls and stick checks into transition scoring opportunities. His defensive versatility allows him to adapt to different offensive looks, seamlessly switching assignments or stepping into mismatches when needed.
What separates Evan is his knack for timely disruption. His slap checks come at exactly the right moment, his stick length challenges passing lanes, and his anticipation generates knockdowns, interceptions, and turnovers that swing momentum in his team’s favor. He excels both in one-on-one battles and as part of a coordinated defensive scheme, blending aggression with smart positioning.
Verbally committed to the University of Maryland, Evan March projects as a creative, multi-dimensional defender at the next level. His combination of timing, anticipation, and adaptability makes him a defender built to impact every phase of play, from forcing turnovers to initiating fast-break opportunities for the Terps.

Helping make up an awesome ’27 class at St. Paul’s, March started as a freshman and seldom played like one, collecting 47 groundballs and 21 caused turnovers in his debut campaign. On Sunday, the tough and athletic lefty first stood out with his stick, tossing some unbelievable clearing passes 30 or 40 yards, including an absolute dime to Sam Coluzzi at attack. Strong in coverage and confident off-ball, he wasn’t tested too often but was steady whenever he was, and provided a huge boost in transition as well.
