Carfello has been great in cage this season for the Ironmen with 3.5 GAA and 96 saves on the season so far. He finished this game with 12 saves, putting on a show in the process. He tracks the ball well and doesn’t get flustered when opponents are in tight, making multiple athletic doorstep saves against high-percentage shooters. Most of all, he’s a smart player and makes the right plays.

A joy to watch, Carfello is a stud in cage for the Ironmen, and the 3-star St. Joe’s signee has all of the tools to excel at the next level. He is extremely athletic and makes incredibly acrobatic saves in goal, whether it is a kick save or a ball deflecting off of his shaft. He has good footwork and quick reactions on shots in close, and when shooters change planes, he’s able to track the ball well. He throws darts and stays active as much as possible on clears.  Carfello was the captain of the defensive unit for Don Bosco Prep last season and put on some brilliant performances as the Ironmen finished 15-5. They captured their 3rd straight Bergen County Tournament title, beating Ridgewood 7-6 after trailing going into the 4th quarter, with Carfello finishing with nine saves in the win. Don Bosco would go on to lose in the Non-Public Group A semifinals to Delbarton 12-1, and Carfello would finish the season  Carfello with a career-high in saves with 180, passing 2022 when he recorded 175 saves and was awarded 3rd Team All-State, according to NJ.com. The Ironmen are on a mission this spring and will look to rebound and get back to the state title game.
