A legacy blue-chip recruit out of Long Island, Anthony Asaro plays with the expectation — and delivery — of someone carrying forward a championship standard. Anthony has a high motor, is smooth in transition, tilting possessions with tempo, always in command of the moment. He is efficient and plays with an edge! His downhill bursts force defenses into uncomfortable positions, yet he’s just as dangerous keeping the offense connected with quick exchanges and unselfish reads.
The biggest stages have brought out Asaro’s best. He delivered four goals in the Nassau County (Class B) Championship revenge win over Manhasset (NY), punctuating a dominant second half that swung the rivalry back in the Trojans’ favor. In the New York State (Class B) Championship against Canandaigua (NY), he authored a hat trick in a variety of ways: powering through multiple defenders for a physical finish, dialing up long distance strike from center field, & picking up a 50/50 loose ball in the offensive end, flowing through top of the box he displayed an effortless split on the run lefty with a serious snap on his shot. Garden City closed the year 21–2 with another state title, and he was at the heart of it.
Anthony’s sophomore production matched his presence: 58 points (37 goals, 21 assists) and 21 ground balls, building on the foundation he set as a freshman contributor in 2024. His game translates because he processes quickly, plays within structure, and elevates those around him. He manipulates slides, keeps the ball hot, re-attacks space when defenses hesitate, and consistently makes winning decisions without overplaying his hand.
Off the field, co-founding Ferda Community Lacrosse Inc. reflects the same leadership and humility that show up between the lines — a team-first mindset wired into everything he does.
Verbally committed to North Carolina, he projects as a physically dominant, cerebral ACC midfielder with true two-way impact and All-American upside. This is the type of player college coaches build their midfields around for years.

Asaro stood out with his size and speed mixed with power to get downhill to attack the cage. His confidence and dodging ability helped kickstart the offense multiple times and showed he can kill a defense with either hand, which makes him a tough player to gauge. He finished with a hat trick and two assists vs. Evolve Elite, and when he dodged, he made sure to get a good running start and used speed and power to sweep across the top of the field for a good look at the cage. The Garden City native is tough and physical on the dodge, but also moves with his head up and when an early slide comes, he sees the field well to find an open teammate, acting as the facilitator.

first stepped onto the field, he looked more like an SEC-level tight end than a sophomore midfielder, and he played like one. Asaro is a highly skilled, deceptively fast, and physically dominant athlete. Standing at 6’2” with a powerful frame, Asaro brings an elite blend of size, speed, athleticism, and tenacity that makes him nearly impossible to match up against at the high school level. He finished with 2 goals and 2 assists in the regional final, showcasing his ability to explode past defenders with speed while absorbing contact. His downhill dodging and ability to draw the pole speak to his all-around midfield value, not just as a dodger and as a big-framed player, but also as a scoring threat in general. A two-sport standout football player who uses his endurance, toughness, and grit to beat his opponent, whether it’s an LSM or a Close Defender. Asaro will for sure be a high-ranked 2027 midfield prospect during the recruiting time and will for sure land at a high-end D1 powerhouse.

Even while being locked off and heavily faceguarded, Asaro still found ways to make a difference. The sophomore facilitated with precision, recording four assists and showing strong field vision and unselfish play. A true quarterback of the offense, Asaro stayed patient under pressure and delivered pinpoint passes to open teammates, particularly during Garden City’s dominant second quarter. His composure and skill under defensive heat are already elite for his age.

The game’s most dominant presence, Asaro showcased his athleticism, skill, and field awareness, finishing with four goals and two assists. Even while drawing the top pole and being locked off, he found ways to impact the game, dodging with purpose and finishing with power. His ability to sweep and shoot on the run was nearly unstoppable and set the tone for Garden City’s comeback.

Helping lift his S2S Grizzlies squad to a title in the ’27 bracket, Asaro undoubtedly would have been named Tournament MVP if such an award existed. He made an absolute killing as the Grizzlies’ primary offensive initiator, serving as both the tone-setter by opening up scoring in two of the three games I watched and the hero in the clutch, netting the overtime goal in a phenomenal quarterfinal matchup with 2Way. Combining a powerful 6’2 frame with twitchy athleticism and an aggressive dodging mindset often displayed by multi-sport standouts on Long Island, the midfield horse applied constant pressure with the ball in his stick and created offense in a plethora of ways. As a shooter, he has a violent release on the run along with brilliant touch and placement, with his shots rarely getting saved and often finding the top corners. It came as no surprise to hear that he had a big football season for the undefeated state champions. Asaro brings a gritty running back mentality to the lacrosse field, and he frequently put his team on his back throughout the weekend.
