Hudson owns impressive athleticism, noteworthy speed, and an extremely aggressive stick. That list of assets is complemented by his polished lateral footwork and high IQ. Put all those items together, and the result is that the Dragons coaching staff has added a menacing on-ball defender to their 2028 recruiting class. Hudson can stay glued to a ball carrier for long stretches and then cause a turnover via a powerful slap or timely poke/lift. Hudson will also use his physicality to put the ball on the ground. Hudson's poise when defending on an island against highly regarded opponents is remarkable. Around the cage, Hudson has a habit of disrupting passing lanes with his stick. Once the ball hits the turf, Hudson's dynamic stick work and positioning skills enable him to secure possession. Hudson will then turn upfield and push the transition game where he is a legitimate threat to score. Hudson operates mainly at close defense, but he has flashed the ability to play LSM, too.

This past weekend, McGarigle committed to Bryant, and that decision means the Bulldogs have landed a talented prospect with incredible upside. In spring 2026, McGarigle was a solid rotational piece for a St. Augustine team that won sixteen games and advanced to the NJSIAA state tournament semifinals. Then on the summer 2026 circuit, McGarigle posted his breakout stretch of play. This lefty assembled outstanding performances at marquee summer events such as NAL and the A.L.L. Summer Championships. For an encore, McGarigle pushed Team Philly to the Burn Division title at the New Balance All-America event and was named to the All-Tournament team. McGarigle is a multi-skilled offensive prospect who can operate at attack or midfield. At attack, McGarigle can work the low lefty spot or high crease area for catch-and-finish goals. Additionally, McGarigle has flashed the ability to dodge or feed from X as a midfielder. McGarigle's explosive first step combined with his slick change of direction moves allows him to dodge from the wing or up top, find open space, and then fire on the run. The Bryant coaching staff will love McGarigle's two-handed skill set.

The 2026 Hill School team was stacked with committed DI prospects. Flying under the radar on that loaded Hill roster was this talented, athletic, and high-IQ shortstick prospect. So, when Pagano recently gave his verbal commitment to St. John's, it meant that the Red Storm had quietly landed a stud defensive presence. Pagano is an agile and fleet-footed SSDM who also owns smooth lateral footwork. That trifecta of assets combined with Pagano's hyper-aggressive style makes him a suffocating on-ball defender. Pagano also will not hesitate to dish out some physical punishment in order to keep an opponent in front of him. Once Pagano has caused a turnover, his GB skills and speed allow him to scoop and go. Pagano's polished stick skills and smart decision-making on the fast break should make him popular with the St. John's staff. In settled action, Pagano owns the quick burst and cutback moves needed to initiate from anywhere on the field.

During the 2026 high school season Ryan posted 31 goals to go along with 16 assists. Ryan was also a postseason standout during Springfield's run to the 3A state tournament semifinals. Then on the June / July club circuit, Ryan torched opponents with his speed, serious shake, and phenomenal shooting skills. Ryan capped off his stock-rising summer 2026 by helping Team Philly capture the Burn Division title at the New Balance All-America event. Thus, when Ryan committed to Robert Morris last week, I tipped my cap to the Colonials' coaching staff for landing this multi-skilled O-Mid with a winning pedigree. Ryan is an athletic and shifty midfielder who can get downhill, run through contact, and then shoot or distribute on the run. His deep bag of moves and refined stick skills allow him to dodge from anywhere in the offensive end. Off-ball, Ryan's crafty cuts, drifts, and dives lead to high-percentage scoring chances around the crease. The power and quick release on Ryan's shot make him a serious catch-and-shoot perimeter threat too

In early October, Drexel struck gold in its own backyard when Warrick gave his verbal commitment to the Dragons' coaching staff. Warrick is an athletic and highly skilled left-handed attackman who earned 1st Team All-Catholic League honors in 2026 after he scored 24 goals and handed out 38 assists. The combination of Warrick's creative finishing moves and ability to operate in tight spaces makes him a natural fit for the low lefty attack spot. Warrick will frequently sweep from X to the back post for quick catch-and-finish scoring chances. Or Warrick can receive a pass on the back post, execute a shifty move, and then slip to the front of the cage for a dunk. Warrick can also drift out to GLE, where the velocity and precision on his shot allow him to crank the ball past opposing goalies. As an initiator, Warrick possesses the separation speed and change of direction moves needed to dodge from every level. Warrick can certainly score on the run, but he also does a beautiful job of using his field vision and feathery touch to drop assists to open teammates while running full speed.

The contact period for Class of 2028 prospects has been open for over a month now. During that time, Prep Lacrosse has featured commitment news regarding a host of nationally ranked juniors.

But today, I wanted to shine a light on five extraordinarily talented Delaware Valley prospects whose recent verbal commitments flew under the radar.

In my opinion, the Delaware Valley players profiled below were fantastic gets for the college program they chose, as each of these 2028s should have a positive impact soon after they hit campus.
