Five More Prospects We'd Offer ASAP

With the summer circuit madness now behind us, I thought today would be an appropriate time to review five prospects who impressed with their outstanding play during June and July.   In fact, the players profiled below were so impressive that if I were running a college lacrosse program, I would send each of them an offer as soon as possible.    During his breakout sophomore campaign, Delvescovo helped push Malvern Prep to the PAISAA state title and was named a 1st Team All-Inter-Ac selection. For an encore, Delvescovo posted an incredible summer. In June, he was named to the NHSLS Red Session All-Tournament team, and then in July, Delvescovo was selected as the MVP of the Burn division at the New Balance All-America event. In short, Delvescovo should stay close to his phone on September 9th. Delvescovo is a fleet-footed and athletic pole with refined stick skills. That trifecta allows Delvescovo to terrorize ball carriers all over the field and cause turnovers via heavy stick checks or crafty pokes and lifts. Once the ball hits the ground, Delvescovo's scoop-and-go skills enable him to push the rock in transition for goals and assists. Delvescovo has also proven that he is a legitimate scoring threat as a trailer on the secondary break. Delvescovo is a high-IQ team defender too. His slides and doubles are always on time, and Delvescovo keeps his defensive unit connected with frequent communication.     How this athletic and highly skilled 2027 prospect with a winning pedigree remains available is a complete mystery. Duggan is a lefty pole with imposing size, polished footwork, and a punishing stick. Combine those assets with Duggan's fundamentally sound technique, and you get a menacing on-ball presence. Duggan can cause turnovers via his deep bag of stick checks, or he can use his physicality to put the ball on the turf. He does a fantastic job of getting into ball carriers early in the dodge and blowing them off their intended path. Additionally, Duggan's long wingspan and anticipation skills enable him to disrupt passing lanes with his stick. Duggan's aggressive stick, physicality and positioning skills make him a ground ball machine. He excels at going into a crowd, securing a ground ball, and then dashing to open space. Duggan's speed and crafty stick maneuvers make him a legitimate contributor to his team's transition game     Meehan is a versatile midfield prospect who possesses intimidating size, breakaway speed, and polished stick skills. That list of assets allows Meehan to impact every facet of the game. On offense, Meehan can initiate from up to and blow past or run over his defender. Once he reaches open space, Meehan can score or distribute on the run. Meehan's ability to dodge going to his left as well as his right makes him difficult to defend 1-on-1. Additionally, Meehan can initiate from the wing, cook his defender, and then sweep across the top of the opposing defense for a crank on the run. Defensively, Meehan can play a gritty and physical style of short stick that frequently produces turnovers. He has a knack for knifing through passing lanes for interceptions too. Once Meehan has the ball, his long strides swiftly carry him down the field for a transition goal or assist. Meehan is a plus player on the face-off wing too. This past spring, Meehan scored 60 goals and dished out 16 assists for Zionsville.          This summer at marquee events such as NAL, Naptown, and New Balance All-America, Massey proved to be a defensive force at LSM. He routinely pressed all the way out on ball carriers and applied constant pressure to their hands. Massey's ability to harass ball carriers and turn them multiple times was extremely disruptive to opposing offenses. When the opportunity presented itself, Massey caused turnovers via slaps, lifts, pokes, and can openers. Additionally, Massey proved to be a master at using trail checks to put the ball on the ground. During June and July, Massey also did an incredible job of sprinting out of the box, locating the ball, and then stopping the opposing team's fast break chance. In settled action, Massey arrived to his man early and frequently dictated direction with his physicality or a forceful stick check. Massey's slides were always on time and were often delivered with a physical edge. On the face-off wing, Massey excelled at hunting down ground balls and then securing possession.     In June and July, this Colorado native burned opposing defenses with his quick burst, elusive stick maneuvers, and creative shooting/passing skills. White thrives in the high crease where his timely off-ball movements produce catch-and-shoot opportunities. His ability to shoot with either hand as well as execute circus-style finishes makes White impossible to stop at close range. White has also proven to be a serious scoring threat from GLE. His quick release and shot placement skills enable him to rip a shot into the back of the net before the opposing goalie knows what happened. White is a skilled X-attack too. From behind the net, White can separate from his defender and then turn the corner for a scoring chance around the crease. His ability to elude the slide defender is remarkable. White's inside roll moves are filthy as well. On other possessions, White will patiently hold the ball at X until a cutter comes open and then deliver a precise dime. With his non-stop motor and active stick, White is a plus player on the ride.
