Carey Smith | Prep Lacrosse Scout
Meile’s imposing size and his accurate, powerful shot were on full display on Monday afternoon. This highly skilled lefty used his length to shoot over the top of Westtown’s zone. The Navy commit pinged corners from a distance four times yesterday and posted five goals in total. Meile also showcased his speed and athleticism on a play where he sprinted coast to coast for a clear and then ripped a shot into the net while on the run.

Leading up to 9/1, one of the biggest knocks on the Class of 2026 was the lack of big, bruising offensive recruits. Meile is quite the exception, though he had been committed to the Midshipmen for three weeks since service academies get a two-month headstart on rising juniors. In terms of his size, the physical lefty looks like he’d already fit in at Navy, and he’s got plenty of game, too. Meile, who recently transferred from Penncrest to SCH of the Inter-Ac, was particularly impressive in the first two games of the day, combining for five goals and an assist. A force of a downhill dodger, Meile can absolutely hammer the ball from the outside and is often working his way to the middle of the field for the best shot. In the past, I felt like his shot selection was iffy. That was not the case last weekend. Defenses started to respect him more as he had increased success and he still cashed in time after time.

As a freshman, Meile recorded 51 goals and 10 assists. Those unbelievable stats established him as the 2023 scoring and overall points leader for Penncrest’s varsity squad. Meile is a left-hander with impressive size who plays a downhill style of lacrosse. His physicality enables him to dodge through contact, so Meile can find space for a shot. When he is on the run, Meile can ping corners at full speed. If you need a step-down shooter, Meile is capable of unleashing rockets into the back of the net from 15-to-18 yards out. Meile has quick hands and owns excellent lateral movement. Those assets enable him to be a plus player on the defensive end. His speed, powerful frame, and ability to run through stick and body checks make Meile a one-man clearing machine. Late in the summer of 2023, Meile was an All-Star selection at the NXT Showcase.
