I doubt that Cherenek will be the Big Green’s final piece of this year’s recruiting puzzle, but he is one of the most impactful. Cherenek has gone head to head against some of the best draw men that the prep ranks can offer in the Founder’s League. He’s also got two years left to improve against those same opponents, who will be rolling out new and improved FO men to rattle and battle Cherenek. The former seems rather unlikely, as he has taken on multiple players who are committed to ACC and Big 10 schools last year. Dartmouth picked up a potential four-year starter in two years, and not enough people are talking about it.

By my count, Gus Cherenek had the best faceoff percentage in the Showtime All-Star Game and also led the fogos in goals across both the All-Star Game and team play. He took on a heavy workload with his fogo teammate out, but still put up excellent numbers. His favorite move looks like the plunger to himself. With the ball, he does a great job finding outlets quickly, and he can hurt defenses, too. I saw him score twice off the catch in team play, and he added a goal in the All-Star Game.
