Knysh was someone who I thought did a number of things well in the fall during the handful of times I watched the Crabs, in addition to on film at a showcase. This spring, he snagged a spot as a starting midfielder, then didn’t look back, embracing his role within an offense that had to replace a pair of All-Americans. A crafty and opportunistic lefty, Knysh has an excellent understanding of spacing and strong off-ball tendencies that allow him to make his presence felt. He scored a pair of goals in the Eagles’ final regular season game against archrival Gilman, including the OT GWG, executing a backdoor cut after scoring on a rebound earlier in the game. As a natural attackman, he’s strong around the goal and has a knack for taking advantage of bad approaches and putting himself in the right spots in order to be successful. It feels as if his best lacrosse is ahead of him, and I’ll be curious to see how he fares this summer.
