Georgetown Prep is your 2026 IAC Champion, topping St. Albans 15-6 in the final after the Bulldogs provided shock value with a semifinal upset of Bullis.

Last Friday's title game was controlled by the [player_tooltip player_id='120614' first='Sam' last='Coluzzi'] and [player_tooltip player_id='128981' first='Rex' last='Adamson'] show on offense, while Prep's defensive unit dominated on the other end, smothering St. Albans for most of the day. The Bulldogs didn't find much rhythm offensively, with four of their six goals coming in the final stretch once the game was out of reach. St. Albans was without key piece Kane Green, but even with him, slowing down Prep's momentum would have been a tall task.

Here are five players who stood out in Friday's IAC Championship:

[player_tooltip player_id='120614' first='Sam' last='Coluzzi'] was the clear MVP of the IAC Championship, finishing with seven goals and three assists. The most eye-opening stretch came early, when he scored four straight goals in the final three minutes of the first quarter, setting off an avalanche of scoring for Prep.

The Navy commit was a menace operating behind the cage and around the goal line, consistently using the crease as an obstacle to keep defenders off balance. Off-ball, he capitalized on multiple sneaks—both frontside and on sprint fades—taking advantage of the adjacent defenders showing to the dodgers. With the ball, he torched the St. Albans' defenders up the lefty hashes and earned an assist when the defense finally forced him to his off hand.

As a finisher, Coluzzi showed his full arsenal—backhand, behind-the-back, off-hand finishes, low-angle shots, and the ability to score through contact. It was a statement performance to end his junior year, especially coming off an injury-plagued stretch, and a strong sign of what's ahead as he steps into a larger role next season with [player_tooltip player_id='16462' first='Noah' last='Han'] graduating.

I first saw Adamson this time last year at the Best in Class event, and he's only gotten better since. Georgetown Prep leaned into what he does best—operating on the crease—and it has paid off this season. Adamson finished with six goals and an assist in the IAC Championship, doing most of his damage on the inside. Every goal he had was off the ride or timing cuts inside. He has silky mitts around the crease, able to handle tough feeds through contact, and gets the ball out of his stick quickly, giving goalies little time to react. Adamson probably foams at the mouth when he sees slides go. When he times that cut, it is extremely hard for two slides to follow. The Brown commit also made an impact on the ride, applying pressure, turning ball carriers, jumping on loose balls, and being a "cherry picker" when the ball is coming back his way.

Adamson was a key piece of Prep's offense this season, and with major contributors like [player_tooltip player_id='16462' first='Noah' last='Han'] and [player_tooltip player_id='124010' first='Braden' last='Lutz'] graduating, he'll be counted on to lead a veteran group. Continued development as a dodger and ball carrier will be the next step, and his summer playing box north of the border should help that out.

[player_tooltip player_id='177172' first='Luke' last='Banks'] is the type of player college coaches should be circling. The younger brother of Ty, he has the genes, background, size, and athleticism to project well at the next level. He brings many of the traits you see in Canadian field players—strong handle, slick ground ball work, comfort in transition, and a natural competitor on the defensive end. Banks first caught my eye on the offensive end when he buried on against St. Ignatius earlier in the season, but his defensive impact stood out most in the IAC Championship.

Alongside [player_tooltip player_id='19020' first='Luke' last='McGlone'], he helped end multiple possessions with aggressive, well-timed double teams. Banks will head back to Canada to play with the Adanacs this summer, but his upside makes him a name college programs should continue to track closely.

[player_tooltip player_id='177170' first='Ben' last='Palma'] put together a strong performance in his final game in a St. Albans uniform before heading to Bowdoin in the fall, finishing with two goals and two assists in the IAC Championship against Georgetown Prep. A big righty attackman, Palma can uncork it with his underhand release, which he showcased twice—once off a skip pass from behind the cage and again as the point man in transition. That shooting threat forced Georgetown Prep to account for him on the man-down unit, where they played aggressively with rotations.

Palma handled that pressure well, drawing attention and forcing rotations that opened up opportunities, leading to two assists on the man-up. While the St. Albans offense struggled to generate consistent looks against Prep's defense, Palma was a steady presence. At Bowdoin, he'll step into a system with more support, which should allow his skill set to translate well.

While St. Albans' defense had its struggles in the IAC Championship, 2028 defender [player_tooltip player_id='172384' first='Evan' last='Walton'] showed why he's a long-term piece with significant upside. He, along with Will Martin, saw time matched up against five-star attackman [player_tooltip player_id='16462' first='Noah' last='Han'], who was held without a point.

Walton has the speed to stay with quicker attackmen and can burn chasing attackmen in the ride when he has the ball. His off-ball defense still needs refinement, but that's a coachable area. The athleticism and instincts are there. St. Albans will lean heavily on Walton, alongside Kane Green, as they look ahead to next season.
