Sam Coluzzi Sam Coluzzi Sam Coluzzi 5'9" | 165 lbs | A/M | Right Hand Georgetown Prep | 2027 State MD was the clear MVP of the IAC Championship, finishing with seven goals and three assists. The most eye-opening stretch came early, when he scored four straight goals in the final three minutes of the first quarter, setting off an avalanche of scoring for Prep.

The Navy commit was a menace operating behind the cage and around the goal line, consistently using the crease as an obstacle to keep defenders off balance. Off-ball, he capitalized on multiple sneaks—both frontside and on sprint fades—taking advantage of the adjacent defenders showing to the dodgers. With the ball, he torched the St. Albans’ defenders up the lefty hashes and earned an assist when the defense finally forced him to his off hand.

As a finisher, Coluzzi showed his full arsenal—backhand, behind-the-back, off-hand finishes, low-angle shots, and the ability to score through contact. It was a statement performance to end his junior year, especially coming off an injury-plagued stretch, and a strong sign of what’s ahead as he steps into a larger role next season with Noah Han Noah Han Noah Han 6'0" | 175 lbs | A | Right Hand Georgetown Preparatory School | 2026 State #15 Nation MD graduating.

Perhaps best known for his ability to dazzle and produce in showcase settings, Coluzzi transferred from Lawrenceville to Georgetown Prep mid-year, which limited his varsity contributions to flashes. Expect that to change this season, as he has the skill set and confidence to make an impact for a program with a promising outlook following its offseason coaching change. Small yet shifty and highly skilled, he’s a creative goal-scorer who consistently beats his man off the endline and pressures defenses with his relentless style of play and change-of-direction moves. He’s productive off the catch and can finish both fundamentally and with flair. Coluzzi’s effort in the riding game also stands out, often leading to extra possessions for his team. A Navy commit since early October, he’s one of seven USNA 2027 recruits who play their high school ball in Maryland or D.C., though he’s originally from Long Island and calls Georgia home in the off-season.

Given that Coluzzi was born and raised on Long Island before settling in Alpharetta (Ga.) and boarding in the Mid-Atlantic, I’m cheating a bit here from a geographical standpoint. However, Coluzzi was far too good in July not to be highlighted. Stacking impactful play after impactful play, Coluzzi was a big reason why 91 LI bounced back from a tough loss on Friday to make a run into the championship game, then looked strong once again at the LI Summer Showdown. As an offensive initiator, he constantly made his way to high-percentage scoring areas and was tough to get hands on, scoring big goals at key moments. In addition to his ability as a dodger, he displayed soft hands and unselfishness on the fast break, where he racked up points on the fast break while sharing the ball appropriately. Coluzzi also rides the ball back relentlessly and won back possession on several occasions.

Right off the bat, the Georgia resident undoubtedly put together the event’s best individual performance of the day. In Game 1, Coluzzi posted four goals in the first half and added another in the second half, plus an assist, then went on to record four goals in the last game of the day. An energetic and excitable dodger who can separate at will, Coluzzi was a force with his change of direction, burst, and terrific body control. He came off of picks, scored on twisters, finished appropriately with bouncers, sold out for diving goals, and more. A recent transfer for the Big Red, Coluzzi is highly athletic and a super talented playmaker who played with a ton of confidence, and he was always performing under control. As always, attack minutes will be hard to come by at Lawrenceville, but I could see him finding his way at midfield early in his career.
