This Hampton University commit had his versatile skill set on full display during Westtown’s win over ANC. Walker-Welch scored three goals, handed out a couple of assists and operated at SSDM. Walker-Welch’s goal in the second quarter was an Instagram worthy gem. On that play, Walker-Welch took the ball at midfield, split a double team with a spin move, cut back to his right to elude the next defender and then raced down the middle of the field until he was five yards out where he then fired the ball over the goalie’s shoulder and into the net. The speed, change of direction moves and stick maneuvers Walker-Welch demonstrated on that scoring effort were remarkable.

Westtown opened the 2026 season with games against top notch competition as they hosted Inter-Ac contender Springside Chestnut Hill Academy and Mount Saint Joseph out of Baltimore. The athletic and highly skilled Walker-Welch proved he could hold his own against that elite competition by tallying four goals and two assists across those contests. This past week Walker-Welch (Hampton commit) demonstrated that his long-distance shooting must be respected as he fired two rockets into the net from deep against SCHA. He also proved that he owned noteworthy speed and polished stick skills. That combination allowed Walker-Welch to score / distribute on the move while in transition as well as in 6v6 action. Against Mount Saint Joseph, Walker-Welch flexed his versatility as he played extended stretches at SSDM. On the defensive end, Walker-Welch showed that he could cover ball carriers tightly, snag GBs in traffic and be a plus player in the clearing game.

Walker-Welch kept Westtown’s hopes alive in this game when he recorded a natural hat trick across the end of the 2nd quarter and into the 3rd quarter. Included in that scoring bonanza from the Hampton commit was an incredible low-to-low missile from 15 yards out that pulled Westtown to within 7-4. On another goal, Walker-Welch executed a beautiful hitch move that threw his defender off balance, and then dashed into open space for a sidearm crank. Those polished shooting skills, combined with Walker-Welch’s quick burst, made him extremely difficult to defend 1v1.
