At the end of September, the Drexel coaching staff reached down into Delaware and pulled out a verbal commitment from this dominant pole. Hudson owns impressive athleticism, noteworthy speed, and an extremely aggressive stick. That list of assets is complemented by his polished lateral footwork and high IQ. Put all those items together, and the result is that the Dragons coaching staff has added a menacing on-ball defender to their 2028 recruiting class. Hudson can stay glued to a ball carrier for long stretches and then cause a turnover via a powerful slap or timely poke/lift. Hudson will also use his physicality to put the ball on the ground. Hudson’s poise when defending on an island against highly regarded opponents is remarkable. Around the cage, Hudson has a habit of disrupting passing lanes with his stick. Once the ball hits the turf, Hudson’s dynamic stick work and positioning skills enable him to secure possession. Hudson will then turn upfield and push the transition game where he is a legitimate threat to score. Hudson operates mainly at close defense, but he has flashed the ability to play LSM, too.

Hudson is a versatile pole who possesses the athleticism, speed, and skills to play both LSM and close defense. His smooth lateral movements, as well as his well-timed poke checks and lifts, make Hudson a menacing perimeter on-ball presence. Once Hudson has caused a turnover, he will scoop up the GB, push the transition game, or locate an open teammate and deliver a precise clearing pass. Hudson’s impressive lacrosse instincts enable him to quickly decide which option is best on a given play. Down low, Hudson can shut down dodges from the wing or X via powerful stick checks or with his physicality. Hudson has an effective habit of getting into ball carriers early in their dodge and throwing them off balance. Hudson is a plus player as a team defender, too.
