 Kaunert is committed to the University of Scranton (D3), and this past Saturday it was easy to see why the Royals are bringing this 2026 prospect into their program. Kaunert is a versatile midfielder who during the Philly Fall HS Challenge excelled at generating stops as a SSDM. His smooth lateral movements and anticipation skills enabled Kaunert to frequently beat offensive players to a spot. His ability to turn a ball carrier multiple times in a single possession was impressive. Kaunert also displayed a high defensive IQ as he flawlessly executed switches, double teams, and recoveries. Additionally, Kaunert’s speed and change of direction moves allowed him to push several transition opportunities. Kaunert flashed nifty offensive stick skills too.
