Expert Analysis
Carey Smith | Prep Lacrosse Scout
Redner has exploded out of the gates here in 2026. He poured in 6 goals during a win over Garnet Valley; recorded five goals to go with three assists in Wilson’s defeat of OJR; and posted four goals in Wilson’s victory over Muhlenberg. Redner’s elite offensive play has been a major reason that Wilson has raced out to an 8-1 start this season. Redner (80 points in 2025) is a crafty off-ball threat who tortures defenders with timely sweeps, cuts, and dives to the net. His ability to receive a pass around the crease and then finish from multiple angles keeps opposing goalies off balance. Redner does a tremendous job of protecting and maneuvering his stick in traffic in order to maintain possession on those plays around the crease. The quick release and power on Redner’s sidearms and step-downs make him a legitimate scoring threat from the wing, too. Redner has also proven that he can initiate from the wing, sweep across the opposing defense, and then fire on the run.

After an incredible sophomore season in which he scored 55 goals and dished out 25 assists, Redner was equally impressive on the summer 2025 circuit. His quick burst, elusive moves, and ability to play with both hands make Redner a match-up nightmare for opponents. Redner is especially effective when he initiates from the wing, sweeps across the opposing defense, and then rips on the move. This quick twitch athlete can also operate at X where his ability to change directions multiple times allows him to lose his defender and then streak around the corner for scoring opportunity in close. Redner is an incredibly accurate shooter, so if he gets his hands free at either low attack spot, it is game over for the goalie. One skill that is often overlooked with Redner is his timely passing. Because of his scoring prowess, Redner is the frequent recipient of double teams as well as early slides. Redner is quick to recognize those defensive tactics and swiftly move the ball to the open teammate.
