I have heard Sambucci described as “an absolute [insert large animal here]” by pretty much everyone I have talked to. A middle linebacker given form and function as an SSDM in lacrosse, he can hang with anyone defensively. Some ACC and Big 10 schools have shown interest, but d-mids – despite their importance in all aspects of modern lacrosse- aren’t given the priority as scorers or other specialists at this stage of the window. Sambucci is unfortunately sidelined with a broken hand from football, so he won’t be able to play until the end of this fall season. That may delay his commitment further, but he will be committing to a D1 program in 2027 at the latest.

“Bull in a china shop” is the perfect way to describe Brody Sambucci Brody Sambucci 6'0" | 185 lbs | M/SSDM | Left Hand Noble and Greenough | 2028 MA . No matter how defenders choose to play him, he finds a way to absorb contact, power through checks, and get to his spot. He’s a true downhill dodger who thrives off physicality, but there’s also a surprising touch of elusiveness in his game that makes him more than just a bruiser.

At IDX, Sambucci showed he’s not all brawn — he made smart reads under pressure, threading skip passes and setting up teammates for easy finishes. With his combination of toughness, motor, and emerging playmaking feel, Sambucci looks like a midfielder built to impact the game at every level.
