Rounding out my series of articles from my time watching the 2027AA division at the 2025 Alliance Summer Championships, we now turn to a group of noteworthy 2027 midfielders to watch out for, all with great talent and potential to produce in many different ways for their teams.

ICYMI, check out the four additional pieces posted from the event:

2027AA Championship Game Breakdown

Top Attackmen

Top Defenders

Top FOGOs

Top Goaltenders

Maiorani was on another level in his games that I saw. He is a great two-way midfielder, but where he stood-out was on the defensive end, where time after time the opposing middies tried to dodge against him and he used his athletic ability combined with his strength to ward off his matchup and force them to pass the ball. He does a good job of getting under the arms and pushing to throw opponents off-balance. He is strong, aggressive and times his checks well, but on the flip-side, he can also handle the ball with confidence and is a threat to score in transition or a settled set with his speed and high lacrosse IQ. The Pittsford product was exciting to watch play and left it all on the field with effort and constant pursuit of the ball.

Lynch is a stud offensively for his squad and showed he can impact the game in numerous ways to help his team succeed. He tallied a pair of goals vs. DC Express, a goal and an assist, which led to the OT game-winner vs Sweetlax, and a sweet roll-dodge and shot that went bar-down in the title game vs. BBL Black. The Belmont Hill product is versatile in the ways he can attack and stays active without the ball as well. When dodging from either wing, he does a good job of using his speed and quick first step to gain leverage into the middle of the field for a high percentage take. When shooting, he is efficient and has a lot of power behind his shot whether on the run or with space to shoot.

Asaro stood out with his size and speed mixed with power to get downhill to attack the cage. His confidence and dodging ability helped kickstart the offense multiple times and showed he can kill a defense with either hand, which makes him a tough player to gauge. He finished with a hat trick and two assists vs. Evolve Elite, and when he dodged, he made sure to get a good running start and used speed and power to sweep across the top of the field for a good look at the cage. The Garden City native is tough and physical on the dodge, but also moves with his head up and when an early slide comes, he sees the field well to find an open teammate, acting as the facilitator.

Scialla was an exciting player to watch with his toughness and hustle all around the field and impacting the game in multiple ways for his team. Right off the jump in his game vs. 3D Garden State, he caused a turnover with good positional and aggressive defense and took the ball coast-to-coast for a goal to give his team an early lead. His speed and agility as a short-stick midfielder was on full display, forcing matchups to pass it off with aggressive play and good stick checks. He has an athletic breakdown at the point of contact with a strong lower body and good footwork to match his opponent's speed. He is confident while handling the rock as well and has great stamina to stay on the field as a two-way midfielder.

Goger was a force to be reckoned with in his game vs. Mad Dog West, during which he posted a hat trick and was doing damage in a multitude of ways. He cashed in his first goal in transition on a step down rip from the right wing which had power and good placement to break the plane, and then also cranked a shot coming out of a roll-dodge with a quick release. The Severn product also works well off-ball and stayed active whether that was setting up on the backside for a potential skip pass or cutting to the middle for a goal which is how he finished his hat trick. He is versatile in the ways he can have an impact and has proven to be a sniper if given a lane to shoot.

Parham has proven he can play both ways for his team and produce great results as he did at this event. He finished with a goal and two assists in his game vs. Mad Dog East Elite and worked hard as a facilitator offensively with his dodging skills. He has a quick burst of speed and good agility to stop on a dime to roll back or split dodge to get to the middle for a shot. The Atlanta native dodged fast and hard with his head up looking for teammates, but also did damage on the defensive end. His motor seems to never stop as he worked hard getting back in transition defensively and by sticking his nose in ground ball piles to get a loose ball, while also having the ability to flip the field in an instant with his open-field speed out of a scrum or off a save.

Fodor was a very active dodger for his team in the games I saw, tallying a goal and three assists vs. NJ Riot and then a goal and an assist vs. 3D New England in the title game. He did a great job of initiating offense out of the dodge with good speed to get a step on his defender sweeping across the field or down the alley and plays smart with the ball. He moves well with his head up and has great stick skills and vision to time his passes on cuts in the middle. Whether shooting on the run or with time and room, the Delbarton product has good technique and accuracy while change planes to keep goalies guessing. He hustles hard to the end line or on ground balls and works hard to put his team in a position to win.

Muegge is a dynamic midfielder with quick hands when in tight and a rocket of a shot from distance. In his game vs. Shore 2 Shore, he cashed in two late chances and connected on an assist as he displayed his ability to create 1-on-1 and slip past his defender for high percentage takes. The Barrie (Ont.) native finished his first goal while able to spin and get under his defender for a low to high rip and then also produced when he worked hard to get into the teeth of the defense and scored while taking a hard hit. He is a tough player and did a good job of drawing slides from his dodges and kicking the offense into gear to get the defense out of position.

Goodberlet is versatile in his ability to play both midfield and attack and can create opportunities in either spot. He finished with a pair of goals vs. Blue Star, a goal vs. Freedom LC, and another two goals vs. 3D New England in a very good showing from him. The Honeoye Falls (N.Y.) native displayed good dodging technique and ability and was able to sweep across the top of the defense for good looks at the cage with a quick release on his shot and good placement. He also showed some patience and finesse with his stick skills and handled the ball well when in traffic. When he had time and room, he snapped off a hard shot and mixed up his shot locations to challenge the goalies.

Giblin stood out with his hustle on the field and his ability to play both ways to help his team win. He works hard defensively, pestering his matchup and showing good speed to match their feet and moves well laterally to stay in front. On the flip side, he can also create problems offensively as he netted two goal and notched an assist in his game vs Mad Dog East Elite. The Peddie School product was able to create offense in transition, finding his attackmen for a goal and then stayed active by dodging his matchup and using his speed to sweep across the top for a powerful shot and goal. He also works well without the ball and connected on a goal in tight with good off-ball movement to catch the defense sleeping.

Rounding out my series of articles from my time watching the 2027AA division at the 2025 Alliance Summer Championships, we now turn to a group of noteworthy 2027 midfielders to watch out for, all with great talent and potential to produce in many different ways for their teams.
