East Islip rolled to a convincing 13-6 win over Massapequa in a high-energy game that showcased discipline, creativity, and toughness across all phases of play. East Islip's balanced offensive attack and smothering team defense were backed up by elite goaltending from [player_tooltip player_id='23420' first='Drew' last='Walendowski'], as the Redmen controlled the pace from the second quarter on.

Massapequa opened the scoring with a crisp alley dodge goal by Matt Pettis, but East Islip quickly answered. [player_tooltip player_id='127207' first='Jack' last='Kalinowski'] got East Islip on the board with a smooth lefty sweeping goal, opening the floodgates. Kalinowski scored four goals, including a top-shelf rip from up top and a dagger goal in the final seconds to ice the game.

[player_tooltip player_id='23417' first='Sean' last='Hannigan'] operated like a quarterback from behind the net, notching five points (2G, 3A), including a beautiful BTB finish on a rebound and a pair of precise feeds one to Parker off the end line and another to Weiss for a pole goal after a GB sequence.

East Islip's midfield came alive as the game wore on. [player_tooltip player_id='127204' first='Ryan' last='Parker'] was a spark plug off-ball, scoring three goals, including a hitch-and-go down the right alley and picking up a key GB that led to a transition score. [player_tooltip player_id='38866' first='Brayden' last='Black'] also made his mark with two smooth lefty goals, both coming off powerful dodges from the wing.

Massapequa's ride game caused issues for East Islip throughout. One of the pivotal moments came off a failed East Islip clear, where Matt Pettis scooped up the loose ball of the restart and feed [player_tooltip player_id='123947' first='Rocco' last='Spallina'] 30 yards away, who finished calmly off the restart on the doorstep.

Owen Madden added to the onslaught with a beautiful invert goal up the hash, leaving his defender in the dust and finishing bottom corner. Grant Weiss had a complete game making plays between the lines, scoring a goal, and picking off a clear that led directly to a Parker goal. His hustle and two-way ability stood out all afternoon.

For Massapequa, Matt Pettis (2G, 1A) was the most consistent offensive threat. His backhand goal in transition showed high-level stickwork, and he also created a great look for Tyler Byrnes after a tenacious ride. [player_tooltip player_id='123838' first='Nolan' last='Wieczorek'] got on the board with a heavy bounce shot, and nearly had another on a man-up rip that was robbed by Walendowski.

Defensively, East Islip was led by strong takeaway work from Vinny Fantuzzi and Grant Weiss, while goalie [player_tooltip player_id='23420' first='Drew' last='Walendowski'] made 13 saves, several in key moments including a massive stop on a doorstep man-up shot by Wieczorek. On the other end, Massapequa's [player_tooltip player_id='22936' first='Michael' last='Jannotte'] stood tall with 15 saves, doing everything he could to keep the Chiefs in it.

In the end, East Islip's depth, ball movement, and transition game were too much. They outscored Massapequa 9-3 in the second half and closed the game on a 5-0 run, finishing with a commanding 13-6 victory.

The Rutgers commit was relentless off-ball and in transition.
