[player_tooltip player_id='126566' first='Jose' last='Aragon'] has been very consistent in the goal for the Palo Panthers recently, helping them go undefeated against LVLA competition. He has been seeing the ball well and does a great job of anticipating where shooters are trying to place the rock. He's also always ready to clear it and knows exactly where to look post-save. His reliable, high-IQ play are attributes that set him apart. From what I've seen this season, he continues to develop. And he still needs a place to call home next year if college coaches are in need of a steady goaltender with plenty of experience.

Jett Piercy was in net for the Faith Lutheran Crusaders last week when they faced off against Mira Costa. He looked quite agile and quick out there, utilizing his length and reaction time to stuff both near and outside shots. He also used his speed to run down misses and threw pinpoint passes during clearing opportunities. All in all, I liked what I saw, and he certainly has many of the attributes a goalie needs.

I was able to watch Mira Costa keeper Peyton McAlpine play a couple of times last week. He was clutch in their game against Bishop Gorman, making big-time saves down the stretch while they were in the middle of their comeback. He also showed strong anticipation, reading shooters well and getting into position early to make key stops. His poise and composure proved to be pivotal, as Costa ultimately completed the comeback.

Luke Lyles has been holding it down for the Bishop Manogue Miners this season. He is one of the more athletic goalies out there, using his twitchiness to make last-second saves. So far, he has four 10+ save performances this season, including a 24-save game against Truckee North Tahoe, and he continues to be a solid presence in the cage.

Ryland Peterson does a great job of staying poised throughout the battle, no matter the situation. He faces a good deal of shots just about every game and makes some true highlight-reel stops that not all goalies can make. His leadership is noticeable as well, and he constantly motivates the rest of the team, even when the ball is on the offensive side of the field. Despite being in some tough matchups, he's still impressed recently.
