While top Division I programs are just beginning to scout the 2028 class, it's never too early to track the next wave of talent. Here's a look at some 2029 attackmen worth watching:

A dynamic playmaker who always puts himself in the position to be at the end of plays, Kumin has a scorer's touch, especially from the left-handed wing. He shoots the heck out of the ball for someone his size, and between his multitude of different release points and impeccable deception, goalies have a hard time getting a read on his shots. Kumin's feet are always moving off-ball to maximize his scoring opportunities, and as a carrier, he's adept at sending skip across the field or finding his man wide open on the doorstep with feeds from below GLE. Having already pieced together a strong body of work on the club and showcase circuit, Kumin will be back for another year on varsity at Nobles, which already has a Princeton-bound lefty at attack. That being said, I'd be shocked if he's not seeing significant minutes by the middle of the season.

Named Offensive MVP at The Spotlight (the top 2029 showcase), Luey is a name that I've been hearing rave reviews about for a few months now. Coming up the ranks playing box for St. Catherines in Ontario, he's got a tantalizing skill set hallmarked by silky mitts and a constant willingness to take risks. He's not the type of Canadian who came to prep school with minimal experience playing field lacrosse, however, and he's far more than just a finisher, looking off teammates and throwing nasty skip passes from distance. His highlights showcase a player who loves executing filthy toe drags and obscene around-the-worlds, making goalies move with ease. His style of play and flashiness keep everyone around him on their toes, and I'm really excited to witness him light up the New England prep school scene over the next four years, especially as he commits himself to the weight room.

Incredibly skilled and steadily productive, Mondiello is a natural playmaker with a nose for the goal. Good things happen when the ball finds Mondiello's stick: he's unselfish and decisive, making the right read every time and showing a great understanding of spacing and how to work off-ball. Possessing a snappy release and excellent hands, Mondiello is deceptive and diverse with his fakes and release points. He was the headliner of a heavy contingent of eighth graders for Long Island Lutheran's varsity roster last spring, racking up 50 goals and 48 assists while dazzling against older competition. I loved what I saw out of him as he helped the Team 91 LI Venom 2028's to a title at IMLCA and am looking forward to seeing what kind of impact he makes for Manhasset for the next four years.

Another promising lefty, Myers has the type of skill level and lacrosse IQ that's to be expected from the son of the longtime head coach at Ohio State. He's a smooth operator with a sturdy frame, darting through defenses and bouncing off of anybody in his path while showing excellent stick protection. His cuts are sneaky and perfectly timed, and his handle is impeccable, as he doesn't necessarily need the ball to be successful. Able to take advantage of defenses constantly keying in on him, Myers is a gifted passer who can throw guys open and do so with flair. As a scorer, he's got all kinds of fakes and loves to get creative, evidenced by his tape of him playing box. I wouldn't dare predict where a '29 will end up playing at the next level, but I'd say we can probably rule out him matriculating to Ann Arbor.

O'Shaughnessy bumped back into the 2029 class after posting 33 goals and 35 assists as a Northwest Catholic (Conn.) freshman, and from what I gather, he showed well with Loomis and Hilltop this fall. Everything he does is fast: the crafty lefty is an assertive dodger with a penchant for making his man miss due to exceptional COD and body control, showcasing a wide array of moves once he wins his matchup. O'Shaughnessy is incredibly explosive out of his rollback and has to be respected as a shooter, as he consistently scores from range and sweeps back to the middle of the field. With his athleticism and energetic playing style, he's relentless in the riding game as well. Cracking the Pelicans' lineup as a freshman may be a tall task, but his skill set is that of a player who could be a problem for opponents for years to come.
