Below is a review of three "prep school" teams we believe will make headlines during the 2026 high school season.

College coaches should makes sure to get out and watch these squads play as soon as possible.

Kiski School

In 2025 Kiski School racked up 13 wins against a national schedule. Then this past fall, the Cougars went 3-0 at NHSLS against a difficult slate of opponents. Based on those numbers and a stacked roster, I am predicting a monster 2026 season for the Cougars.

The strength of this Kiski team will be in their midfield group. Standouts Colby Demora (Bryant commit) and [player_tooltip player_id='165546' first='JJ' last='Tolentino'] (Iona commit) are the headliners at midfield. Demora is an athletic, two-way midfielder who excels in transition. Tolentino is a fantastic lefty who can get downhill in a flash because of his explosive first step. Running with those two at midfield is another extremely skilled lefty in Zach McKnight as well as highly regarded 2027 prospect Ryan Janese.

That impressive group of midfielders is bolstered by two remarkable LSMs in Owen Bordin (Hampton Univ. commit) and Simon Labelle (2027). Both of these agile LSMs are ball hawks on the defensive end and are fully capable of pushing the rock on the fast break for goals or assists.

College coaches will also want to scout 2027 attack prospect [player_tooltip player_id='171907' first='Brody' last='Fletcher']. At the fall 2025 NHSLS event Fletcher torched opposing defenses with his shifty moves and polished stick skills.

On the defensive end, the Kiski roster has a pair of outstanding goalies with imposing size. 6-foot-3 senior Graeme Crowder (Detroit Mercy commit) and 6-foot-1 junior Carter Walrond are two of the top net minders in the state.

Perkiomen School

In November, Perkiomen School assembled a 3-0 record at the Philly Fall High School Challenge, and it looked as though this well-balanced Panthers squad is primed to make some noise here in 2026.

On offense, the attack trio of Easton Messina (Drexel commit), Riley Gwinn (Stevenson commit) and lefty Quinn Gaffney (Iona commit) will present serious matchup issues for opposing defenses. During the 2025 season Messina used his elusive moves and elite finishing skills to score 50 goals. Last season Gwinn notched 44 goals for Bishop Guertin in New Hampshire.

The Panthers will get a tremendous offensive punch at midfield too. Yale commit Liam Finkel as well as 6-foot-4 lefty [player_tooltip player_id='135013' first='Trent' last='Tremblay'] (2028) are dynamic athletes who can dodge from the up top or the wing to create scoring opportunities. EJ Allain (Connecticut College commit) will make major contributions as a midfielder too.

At the defensive end, Syracuse commit Owen James (postgraduate) is a menacing a pole who last year caused 86 turnovers for Heights School in Maryland. At the end of the 2025 season James was named the Washington Post Metro POY. Athletic and fleet footed LSM Gavin Rossello (Towson commit) is taking a post graduate year at Perkiomen School too. Last season Rossello was a 1st Team All-Central League selection at Garnet Valley. Standing between the pipes for Perkiomen School will be stock rising 2028 prospect [player_tooltip player_id='171354' first='Briggs' last='Jamison']. Jamison owns impressive size, and this fall he displayed fast hands and outstanding agility.

Scranton Prep

Scranton Prep's impressive 2025 season ended in the 2nd Round of the 2A state tournament with a loss to eventual champion Marple Newtown. But graduation hit their roster hard, and some “experts” are now predicting a rebuilding season for the Cavaliers. We politely disagree.

One reason for our optimism about Scranton Prep's upcoming 2026 season is the group of prospects the Cavaliers return on offense. The talented trio of senior attack Mackey Lynett as well as junior attack Jack Rully and junior midfielder Braedon McPartland will provide serious offensive firepower. Lynett (Scranton Univ. commit) is a polished lefty who can generate scoring chances with his dodges or crank shots into the net from the left wing. McPartland is highly regarded 2027 prospect who last season registered 48 goals and 28 assists. His quick burst makes it impossible for poles to defend McPartland 1v1. At 6-foot-4 and 200-pounds, Rully is an athletic beast who can blow past defenders or play bully ball.

Class of 2026s face off specialists Andrew Dempsey and Tate Cullen are a fantastic one-two punch. Their dominating play at the dot enables Scranton Prep to play downhill all game.

On the backend, Scranton Prep is led by two standout poles in close defender Henry Barrett (2027) and senior LSM Donato Rinaldi. Barrett owns the discipline, agility, and skills to lock off an opposing team's No. 1 option. Meanwhile, Rinaldi patrols the perimeter where he terrorizes ball carriers with his speed and active stick. After the 2025 season Rinaldi was a 1st Team All-Wyoming Valley Conference selection.
