The Long Island lacrosse season is upon us, and as always, talent is spread across the island. I'll be breaking it down into three sections, highlighting both the 2025 and 2026 classes: Nassau County, Suffolk County, and the Catholic League. This time, I'm focusing on the standout players from the Catholic League in the class of 2026 who are poised for a big spring.

Balsamo, a Virginia commit, is a lightning-fast attackman and a key offensive weapon for the Flyers. Typically operating from the right wing or at X, his explosive first step consistently puts him in prime scoring opportunities. He moves well within the pick game, whether cutting up the hash or sweeping off a screen to create space for his shot. Already off to a hot start, expect him to be one of the Flyers' top offensive options this season.

Bramoff, a Virginia commit, is a relentless playmaker who seems to be everywhere on the field when watching a St. Anthony's game. He consistently makes an impact in the middle of the field whether it's picking up tough ground balls, clearing the ball, or pressuring opposing midfielders on the ride. An offensive threat as well, he excels in transition, using his great stick skills to either finish plays himself or find the open man.

Ramsay, an LIU commit, is a tall lefty midfielder who uses his height to his advantage, consistently getting his hands free while sweeping with his left hand or dodging down the left alley. His high release point makes it difficult for goalies to track his shot. As the top midfield option for the Bayhawks this season, he will be a key piece of their offense.

Gillis, a versatile lefty who can play both attack and midfield, is a tough matchup due to his size, athleticism, and high skill level. While he prefers getting to his left, he's strong enough to attack from the left wing, getting underneath defenders to create high-quality scoring opportunities. The Duke commit has great shooting range and is also an aggressive rider, generating extra possessions for the Flyers.

Johnson, a Johns Hopkins commit, is the definition of a do it all player. A first line midfielder, he takes the wings of face-offs and is also one of his team's top defensive midfielders. Rarely coming off the field, he makes an impact in all facets of the game. With an extremely high lacrosse IQ, he is always in the right spots, consistently making plays for his team.

Cromwell, a Navy commit, is a slick and shifty lefty attackman who excels both with the ball and off the ball. He finds scoring opportunities through smart cuts or by popping out to the lefty wing for a shot. The son of a coach, he possesses a high lacrosse IQ and makes great decisions with the ball, allowing him to effectively facilitate the Bayhawks' offense. He will be one of their top options this season.
