<p>The high school lacrosse season is officially underway in the Bluegrass with Monday, March 3rd serving as the opening for this historic 2025 season with the sport finally being under the KHSAA umbrella.</p>

<p>Of the 32 games played during the opening week of the season, some of the most notable results happened in Louisville as Trinity started the year 0-2 and St. Xavier 1-1. Having Volunteer State power Memphis University School (Tenn.) in town, Trinity fell to the Owls 12-9 on Thursday while St. Xavier defeated them 17-6 on Friday night. On Sunday both of the Bluegrass powerhouses faced defeat with Western Reserve Academy (Ohio) topping the Shamrocks of Trinity while Culver (Ind.) defeated the Tigers of St. Xavier.</p>

<p>Among the other notable results from week one, Fredrick Douglass made the trip to Louisville from Lexington and defeated Kentucky Country Day (KCD) in a Tuesday night battle. DuPont Manual earned a win in the debut game for head coach Brian Moore with a 7-3 victory over North Oldham. The Crimsons then took down St. George's (Tenn.) 12-9 on Saturday for a 2-0 start to the season. Lexington Catholic began the year 2-0 with wins over Lexington Christian and Covington Catholic. On Saturday night, Lexington Christian erased a 6-0 deficit to take down Henry Clay 10-9 in the Eagles' first-ever victory over the Blue Devils.</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">The Fairfield signee wasted no time getting his senior campaign started as Bryant showed through two games in week one that he is still one of the premier threats from the midfield in Kentucky. Bryant put his scoring ability on display in the Rocks' opener, scoring four goals while also dishing out one assist in a loss to Memphis University School (Tenn.).</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">St. Xavier opened the season Friday night down two of their best offensive playmakers in Kaiden Sullivan and [player_tooltip player_id='20802' first='Thomas' last='Andriole']. The Tigers' offense, however, still flourished with 17 points in a win over Volunteer State power Memphis University School. Marks led that effort with six points off three goals and three assists in a performance where he put both his speed and off-ball ability on display.</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Pennington is a dual-sport athlete who also plays football and is the son of former Marshall and NFL quarterback Chad Pennington. A strong goal-scorer who operates very well from behind the cage and around GLE, Pennington opened his sophomore campaign with a six-point performance as he netted three goals and dished out three assists to lead Sayre past Eastern 11-4.</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">For the Collins Titans, it has been the [player_tooltip player_id='23225' first='Logan' last='Huelsman'] show through two games. The junior netted all eight of the Titans' goals in their 8-6 season-opening win over Shelby County and then added five scores in a 10-0 defeat of Male. In the early stages of the season, Huelsman has continued to showcase his ability to score in a variety of ways which includes consistently beating his man and getting into the heart of the defense.</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Coming off what was a strong freshman campaign, Dye has already shown development through two games as a sophomore. An extremely versatile playmaker, Dye tallied six points (3G/3A) while also grabbing 12 ground balls and going 56% (13-for-23) at the faceoff dot in the first two outings for the Crimsons. Manual won both of their games last week for a 2-0 start.</p>
