Standouts as Trinity and South Oldham Advance to KSLL Title Game

As it often is in Louisville, rivals Trinity and St. Xavier met for a second time in a year and that second meeting came with the season on the line. For the second time in as many years, however, the Rocks and Tigers did not meet in the Kentucky Scholastic Lacrosse League championship game but faced off in the semifinals.

Trinity won the first meeting of the year 14-13 in a double overtime classic at their home Marshall Stadium. The Rocks played host to the Tigers this time as well but won in a much more confident fashion, taking down St. Xavier 11-5. The win advances the Shamrocks to the state championship game for the first time since 2022. It is the first time since 2007 that Trinity has beaten St. Xavier twice in a season.

In Wednesday's nightcap at Marshall Stadium, South Oldham overcame a multitude of injuries to defeat Kentucky Country Day 13-6. The win moves South Oldham into the KSLL title game for the second consecutive season.

With the loss, St. Xavier ends their season with a 13-8 record. It was the program's first under head coach Kevin Doherty. KCD ends the year with a 16-5 overall record.

A serious threat on the inside as a finisher, he has recorded both two seven-goal outings and a five-goal outing this season. Each of those outings came during Trinity's now 16-game winning streak that dates back to March 6th. On Wednesday night, the Transylvania commit put one a show once more as the leader of the Trinity offense. And he did so with his future college coaches in attendance.rnrnThe senior attackman led Trinity with a hat trick. His first of the day came midway through the second quarter to answer what was a two-goal St. Xavier run and keep the Rocks ahead 6-2. However, the Fairfield verbal eventually broke through and ended the night as one of Trinity's leading scorers. Bryant found the back of the net twice and assisted on another score.rnrnBryant got going midway through the first quarter as he found an open Huck Campbell for a score to pull Trinity to a 3-0 start.
