Grieve is as dangerous as a feeder as he is a scorer, mostly because he knows when to manipulate a defense and when to take advantage of it. I love the way he dodges poles. Sometimes he draws a check from the start with his passing posture to get an instant step on his defender; other times, he uses that same posture to keep the ball moving or find cutters inside. Grieve forces defenders to play at his pace. His constant variability in speed and dodging styles makes him extremely hard to guard—dodging hard to draw a slide and open a skip, or slowing down to freeze a slide and create space for himself. He’s unpredictable. The fact that he finishes on the doorstep constantly speaks not only to his efficiency as a scorer, but to the threat he poses to defenses.
