When it comes to Figueroa’s game, it starts with his ridiculous motor and tenacity, both of which were evident within seconds of TP’s first game against St. Ignatius. A stalwart between the boxes, he was constantly making a positive impact for the Falcons, regardless of the area of the game. Figueroa’s hands and feet are excellent, as he’s artful with his takeaway checks. A talented hockey player before focusing on lacrosse, you can see it in the way he approaches groundballs and gets the rock up off the ground, particularly in contested situations. It was noticeable just how well he’s able to flip his hips and run with his man, even the shiftiest of ball-carriers. Having started as a freshman for Torrey Pines, Figueroa has already assembled quite a strong body of work, and I’d imagine that he’s bound to dazzle recruiters on the fall circuit.
