At 6’4, Vesely moves exceptionally well for his size and shows a lot of potential as a two-way middie. At Maverik Showtime last June, he impressed by doing a little bit of everything — settled offense, transition, defense, clears, and groundballs — embracing a variety of roles at the most high-pressure and widely attended event of the summer. Impactful between the boxes, Vesely doesn’t hesitate to get physical or stick his nose in the dirt to snuff out big groundballs and can fly upfield. He’s smooth as a dodger when presented with the opportunity, separating with relative ease before snapping off shots on the run, and he’s doled out some pretty assists. With how much Vesely brings to the table on defense and in the middle of the field, it wouldn’t surprise me to see him in more of an SSDM/transitional role in the future, but he could go either way. I’m eager to see his continued development and what kind of role Vesely seizes this spring.
