Expert Analysis
Michael Campanile | Prep Lacrosse Scout
A staple for Madlax Capital all weekend, Randles quietly proved himself as one of the most polished and complete X attackmen in the class. The Yorktown product scored 101 points this spring and brought that same blend of poise, vision, and versatility to the NAL Summer Invitational. There aren’t many true two-handed X players anymore, which makes Randles such a unique cover. He’s just as comfortable starting his plays to his left as to his right, keeping defenders on their toes. He’s quick when he dodges and fearless at the end, willing to launch himself around a slide and finish with finesse. He scored with a jump shot around the corner, made a couple of question marks, and seemed equally happy to distribute when the defense slid early. Randles reads defenses well, moves with speed and purpose, and has a calm demeanor that’s hard to teach.

earned 2nd Team All-District (Liberty) in 2024. He posted 70 points (41 goals & 29 assists) in 18 games as a freshman on Varsity. Nate averaged 3.9 points per game as a high-percentage shooter finishing at a 52.6% rate. He helped Yorktown to a 14-5 record as a young leader for the Patriots. Randles can attack defenders with either hand & has a nasty shot on the run. He has notable passing skills equipped with vision & is already being considered one of the best attackers in the state. Nate is an illustrious playmaker who is stupendous from X with quick decision-making & good balance. He is a complete attacker who will work to find the short sticks in the ride. Randles has handles! He catches the ball with ease & does not let the ball die in his stick. Nate is a highly coveted quarterback of the offense who will have the potential to make an impact at the next level with more experience!

After racking up 70 points as a freshman and enjoying a successful campaign on the summer circuit, Randles showed particularly well during his time at IDX and is a well-rounded young attackman worth keeping an eye on going forward. I was wildly impressed with how hard he works off-ball, and that’s on top of his ability as a ball-carrier. He’s super skilled, slick and shifty, possessing the burst and change of direction to beat his man off the endline and turn the corner. Randles is tough and can get shots off from any release point (even when his defender gets hands on him) and with either hand. I also loved his ability to find the open man in traffic after drawing the slide.
