. The senior FOGO had a fantastic tournament for the Lions, going 56-60 on face-offs at a 93% win rate and tallying 3 goals and 6 assists to go along with it. Having a FOGO who can play make it, take it is a huge advantage which definitely contributed to the wide scoring margins seen during their games. In the county title game, Ramirez finished with 2 goals and 1 assist while going 19-21 from the X to help crown the Lions champions for the first time since 2023. With only one more game on their schedule, Pope John will hope to keep the momentum on their side as they look to make a deep run in the state tournament.

is a stud at the X who can flat-out play! Ramirez gets over the top of the ball faster than the blink of an eye. He has triumphed 491 times so far in his career with showdowns on the draw (68%). Michael notched 32 career points so far with 18 Goals & 14 assists. In 2024 Michael elevated his play going 79% with 257 face-offs won. Additionally, he amassed 215 ground balls, scoring 16 goals & 7 assists respectively during his junior season. Ramirez is hard to neutralize or game plan for because he gets the ball out in a flash & uses an assortment of inter-changeable routes. Michael is elusive with his movements in the open field & shows the ability to shoot on the run. Ramirez is athletic enough to stay & play within his offense. Michael is a superb athlete with a rocket of a shot that can fall from deep. A. Verbally committed to Boston.

In a lot of ways, Ramirez is an outlier. Leave him on the field after a face-off win and there’s a good chance you’ll see him creating offense in settled situations. Each time I made my way over to watch BBL, it felt like Ramirez was doing exactly that. At the face-off X, his hand speed is up there with some of the best I’ve seen in the class, and that’s without talking about the high-level athleticism he displays. On one rare occasion in which he lost the draw cleanly, he was running off the field and found himself in a position where he was able to push the ball carrier out of bounds to award them possession. I’ve seen BU thrive with face-off specialists of his stature as of late, and I’m even more bullish about Ramirez’s upside there considering how much he does do with the ball in his stick.
