About Luke
Expert Analysis
Niko Amato | Prep Lacrosse Scout
Versatile and intelligent — Luke Periello is a do-everything midfielder who patrols the field with poise, speed, and a high lacrosse IQ. A varsity contributor as a freshman and a starter as a sophomore for the Bruins, Luke excels as a two-way threat, blending offensive creativity with defensive hustle and cognizance. He reads the game efficiently, never forcing the ball back where it came from, and thrives in transition and structured sets alike.
Offensively, Periello can attack with either hand, whether cranking with his right or confidently going left on the run. He uses calculated splits, smart cuts, and strong positioning to generate scoring opportunities while keeping the offense flowing. His passing is crisp and unselfish, and he can find teammates in the open field or on clears, making him a true facilitator in high-powered systems.
Defensively, Luke plays with relentless energy and heads-up positioning. He uses his stick and body to win ground balls, spin through traffic, and initiate fast breaks, showing a powerful combination of speed, skill, and awareness.
Verbally committed to Dartmouth, Luke Periello projects as an energetic, scholarly midfielder capable of influencing every phase of the game while serving as a backbone for his team’s two-way success.

Another young middie who was written up coming away from Fall A.L.L., Perriello continued to make a strong impression with his two-way play. This time, his drive to win was even more apparent, given that his team had something to play for in a jam-packed 2027 bracket. Perriello’s first goal against the West Coast Starz sums up his gritty style of play: he willed his way to the goal, got saved, followed his rebound, and deposited the ball into the back of the net. Later on in the game, he fearlessly made his way through the teeth of the defense and scored, something he made a habit out of through the end of the tournament. It’s clear that he never backs down from contact and is willing to do whatever it takes to make a play, even if that means soaking a hard body check and paying the price.

Perriello put together another impressive fall weekend and continued to show off his ability as an athletic two-way middie who empties the tank every game. He may not be very big right now, but Perriello is tough and has an aggressive mindset when sticking his nose in the dirt and coming up with groundballs. He got knocked down on one goal late in the day, then went right back to work on the wings and locked things down on defense, where he sits in his stance and moves laterally at an exceptional level. I love what he’s able to do between the lines and the competitive energy that he plays with – Perriello plays hard yet stays disciplined and knows how to stack up impactful plays in all facets.
