Right beforeThanksgiving 2025, Hogue gave his verbal commitment to Saint Joe’s. But a few weeks before that at the Victory Fall Classic, Hogue caught my attention with his size, elusive open field moves and ability to shoot / pass on the fast break. Hogue’s shifty changes of directions and blazing speed enabled him to go coast to coast frequently. In settled action, Hogue initiated from up top as well as the wing and struck a nice balance between taking advantage of his own scoring opportunities with getting teammates involved. Hogue’s polished footwork enabled him to cut on a dime multiple times during his runs to the cage. His ability to shoot / finish with his left or right hand was impressive too. This high IQ offensive prospect does an excellent job of reading double teams and promptly moving the ball to the open teammate. The coaching staff at SJU will be extremely pleased with Hogue’s versatility as he can play X-attack too.  

While Honey National struggled to generate offense in the IL Summer Derby championship game, one player stood out: Kohl Hogue. He was the lone goal-scorer for his team in the title matchup, showcasing his quickness and skill as he dodged from X, climbed the hash, and finished with fast hands in tight. His ability to constantly change posture during dodges kept defenders off balance and created just enough separation to get quality looks. Earlier in the tournament, Hogue played midfield against the Raiders and showed off his full two-way skill set. He brought physicality on the defensive end, had several explosive punt-return-like clears, and scored in early offense situations—highlighting his versatility and value across the field. Whether at attack or midfield, Hogue impacts the game in multiple ways. His athleticism, high motor, and ability to contribute on both ends make him a strong candidate to draw attention from college programs looking for tough, dynamic playmakers.
