Western Reserve got a strong transfer in Keiran Jones after a big junior year at Stillwater (Minn.), where he posted more than 34 goals and 67 assists. As the focal point of that offense, he developed skills other players do not always get. The obvious one is his ability to read slides and find open teammates. Defenses had to stay glued to his hands all spring because once he got his hands free, he could punish them in a hurry. That also fed into his stop-and-go style of dodging, where he does a great job changing speeds and freezing sliders until the help is too late. He can hit the spots he wants on the run, and at IMLCA he showed a nice feel for faking and finishing on the doorstep.
