One of my first impressions of Manary came when he was quarterbacking a midfielder in the clear. He identified a two-on-one on one side of the field and looked to push in transition. His ability to pick up ground balls, handle the ball, and make smart decisions held throughout the game. On the defensive end, he looks fundamentally sound on the ball, with clean approaches, a confrontational stick to the hands, and hard cross-checks to knock dodgers off their paths. When the ball swung, he bungeed into the hole, opened his hips to help off-ball, and put himself in position for more fundamentally sound approaches.
