About JM

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a pass first left attack that is comfortable playing from the wing, behind the cage, and running out of the box.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My years with Mabry Academy have given me the mental tools to be coachable and present in the moment when I play. I feel that I put my teammates over myself. I really love the entire process of being a student athlete.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I started my freshman varsity season with a broken hip and came back to start the last five games of the season.

If his showing at IDX served as any indication, Costa looks more than ready to step into a much larger role for a Gonzaga offense that graduated a handful of multi-year starters. At his best above the cage on the wing, he’s one of the more feared left-handed shooters in the class and does a terrific job of changing planes, frequently unleashing shots from a deceptive low or three-quarters release. He’s got the speed to separate up the hash or sweep across the top, along with ideal size and a high lacrosse IQ. Costa is one of the crown jewels of a rock-solid ’26 class for Rutgers, a program that isn’t traditionally a DMV pipeline, though the Scarlet Knights have dipped into the region a lot more as of late.
