Beyond just looking part athletically and with his 6’3 and 190-pound frame, Chang brings a lot to the table as a dynamic offensive threat. He’s a smooth operator, both from below and above GLE, showcasing tremendous vision while finding teammates via superb skip passes that often catch defenses off guard. Chang, who dodges with plenty of bounce and deception, loves to drag shortsticks behind the cage and then look to find cutters with skips, but he’s also plenty capable of winning matchups and going to the rack. He’ll initiate contact when necessary, finish appropriately in tight off the catch, and take advantage of opportunities as defenses start to rotate. Drawing more and more slides as the year wore on, he shot a hard, accurate ball when he got his hands free, and scored plenty of goals in big moments for ‘Zaga. I fully expect him to carry over the momentum he gained this spring over into the recruiting circuit.

Lucas Chang is a tall offensive threat from Gonzaga who brings size, skill, and creativity to the Next Level offense. Standing at 6’3”, Chang uses his height and smooth athleticism effectively from X, where he consistently gets his hands free, up the hash, and finishes low and away consistently. He plays with a calm, controlled pace that allows him to read defenses and dictate matchups. What truly separates Chang is his vision, as he consistently draws slides and finds teammates for step-down opportunities or easy finishes on the doorstep. His ability to balance scoring threats with playmaking makes him difficult to game-plan against. With continued development, Chang projects as a versatile offensive piece capable of impacting the game in multiple ways.
