One of two uncommitted Top 100 juniors, not much more needs to be written about Ivancevic, who was written up on Wednesday as part of Niko Amato’s Florida Watchlist piece. At the NLF Summer Championships in July, I wrote that he helped his recruiting stock as much as anyone in attendance, thriving off the wing, in transition, and when covering his man 1-on-1. He can thrive at both close and LSM, though he’s much better suited to play pole at the next level. It sounds like he’s slated to visit an ACC program and an Ivy League program later this month. With that said, he’ll probably be committed before the November circuit rolls around.

Jake Ivancevic Jake Ivancevic Jake Ivancevic 6'2" | 185 lbs | LSM/D | Right Hand Benjamin | 2026 #82 Nation FL earned 2nd Team All-State 1A in 2024 while leading the Buccaneers to their first FHSAA 1A State Championship in school history. Jake is a well-rounded defender with a comprehensive approach to the sport. He registered 9 goals & 3 assists on the year while collecting 76 ground balls. Ivancevic is a tough cover who can match feet & press out on the perimeter knocking down passes & throwing checks to cause turnovers. Jake cranks in transition, also showing the willingness to make the right pass & hit the point. Ivancevik has a slick stick with deceptive ball fakes. This helps him finesse to his left & score on the run with a pole. Ivancevic is sensational on the wing scooping up the ground ball & power-cradling through traffic with valuable possession. He is the fastest player on the team in a timed sprint with a natural sense to double the blind side. Jake is proven to be a top-performing MVP candidate during championship play. He is multidimensional in the fact that he can take draws with his pole & contain a draw specialist from creating forward scoring opportunities. Ivancevic has an immense amount of potential upside as one of the best defenders in the state!

I feel comfortable saying that nobody raised their stock more than Ivancecic this weekend, so I’m doubling up the love by adding to what Eric Bretz wrote about him in the championship recap. He was simply outstanding on the wing, constantly gobbling up groundballs and starting fast breaks. On a few occasions, he even finished them, scoring in a semifinal OT win over the NH Tomahawks and again in the title game. Beyond his ability off the ground, his ability as a cover defender hindered LI Express’ midfield weapons. His top-notch footwork allows him to match feet with opposing dodgers while staying on their hands, and even when he gets beat, he has the recovery speed to get back on them. I’ll be very curious to see who lands him this fall.

Ivancevic first stood out because of his ground ball skills on the wing. If Tyson Blalock wasn’t able to win the faceoff cleanly, Ivancevic was right there to help out and either get the ground ball or make it tough on the opponent. He has good size and speed as an LSM and throws hard checks on his matchups when they attempt to dodge. He also does a good job in the clearing game and even scored a goal when he caught LI Express subbing guys out, he took that opportunity to walk right in front and finish past the goalie in a crucial spot in the fourth quarter. He can handle the ball and doesn’t get himself out of position or find himself in the penalty box too much.
