Waligowski looked sharp at the Terrapin Classic, coming up with tough saves and clean outlets against Philadelphia Freedom and The Hill Academy. He plays out of an athletic stance with a wide base, tight hands, and a compact setup. He’s strong both five-hole and off-stick, and he resets his feet well without any wasted motion, staying locked in on shooters. In the clearing game, he puts the ball on a rope and makes smart reads through rides. He’ll even steal a possession or two, jumping skip passes or sprinting out shots to keep the ball in his team’s hands. He doesn’t try to do too much, just makes the saves and gets his team going the other way.
