Murray might not look the part at first glance at 5-foot-8, 150 pounds, but his production has been obvious since the fall when I first saw him at NAL. In the spring, he put up 66 goals and 23 assists, and that carried over into the summer at the IMLCA Players Summit. He is a slippery, shifty lefty who consistently gets to the shots he wants, whether that is off the dodge or through his off-ball movement. On that lefty wing, he attacks approaches well, using hard jabs over the top for stop-and-pop looks, sweeping to the middle, and occasionally hitting under moves that get him right to the doorstep. I also liked the subtle hesitation moves he showed at IMLCA, which made it even easier for him to get to the middle. Off the ball, he looks for those same types of cuts through the middle and does an excellent job catching and releasing in one motion, which makes life tough on goalies.
