A former Vermont commit, Williams switched to the Panthers in July. While the Vermont native effectively gets to stay in the Green Mountain State, he is going into his senior year at St. Paul’s as a starting goalie – something he wasn’t when he committed to Vermont over a year ago. As the primary shot stopper for the Pelicans last season, Williams was a team captain and finished the season as a Lakes Region All-Star. He gets down on the ball so well that teams had to try and make him drop or attack with closer shots to get balls past him. Middlebury has a super-underrated shotstopper heading their way next year. Hopefully the domino effect will be NESCAC teams in non-traditional states like Bowdoin, Colby, and Bates trying to flip more in-state guys.
