This fast and shifty attack prospect with polished stick skills registered two goals and an assist last night. That trifecta of assets was evident on his first goal, as Jacoby dodged from X, came straight up the hash, and then fired a rocket into the back of the net. Jacoby displayed a quick release and precise aim on his second goal as he sniped a 15-yarder from up top. His quick first step allowed Jacoby to initiate from anywhere on the field. Jacoby’s field vision and timing produced several creative passes last night. College coaches need to scout Jacoby immediately.    

Jacoby is a shifty, high IQ attack prospect with polished stick skills. He does the bulk of his scoring damage in two ways. The first is with creative finishes in close. Jacoby does a tremendous job of initiating from X and then coming around the corner for goals around the crease. On those runs from X, Jacoby’s ability to dip underneath the slide or slip between a double team is impressive. Jacoby also excels at working off-ball. His timely sweeps and cuts often produce clean looks right on the doorstep. The second way in which Jacoby produces goals is with his accurate shooting from GLE as well as the wing. He does an excellent job of drifting into open space to get his hands free for those shots. Because of his quick release, Jacoby is unstoppable on these catch-and-fire scoring opportunities. Jacoby has also flashed the ability to execute a hitch move and then dash past his defender for a crank on the run.
