‘s performance on Saturday against Manheim Township showed exactly why he’s headed to Maryland and why he’s regarded as one of the top players in the country. The senior attackman isn’t the fastest player on the field, but he doesn’t need to be. Doshna plays with power and creativity, embracing contact while using his natural scoring instincts to produce in a variety of ways. He’s known for his strong left hand, but in this game, he showed he can confidently finish with his right as well. With four goals on the day, Doshna once again proved he delivers when the competition is at its highest.
His first goal came from being in the right place at the right time. After a teammate got stripped, Doshna extended his stick, grabbed the loose ball out of the air, took a few hard cradles, and finished far side. His second came when he faded into space off a swing, caught in rhythm, and ripped a three-quarter release to the top near corner. His third was a right-handed quick release in transition that tied the game with under six minutes to play. For his fourth, Doshna gave a hard left-to-left jab against a short stick and hammered a shot past the slide, hitting the far upper corner to give Marcellus a late lead. Doshna’s ability to impact a game without relying on speed—through strength, skill, timing, and IQ—illustrates why he’s built for the college level. Maryland is getting a complete player who will compete for minutes down low or out of the box in the fall.

A physically dominant, left-handed playmaker with a flair for creative execution, Chris Doshna has been a force for Marcellus since 2022, contributing at the varsity level even before his freshman year. He combines size, strength, and elite lacrosse IQ to generate offense in every facet — whether initiating from the top, dodging and finishing through traffic, or finding teammates in tight spots. A talented multi-sport athlete, Doshna also competes in football and wrestling, showcasing his strength, agility, and competitiveness across multiple arenas.
Doshna became a household name after his sophomore season, earning 1st Team All-Central New York (small school) honors in 2024 after posting 60 goals, 42 assists, 55 ground balls, and winning 30 of 46 (65%) faceoffs. As a junior in 2025, he helped lead the Mustangs to a 19-2 record, including a two-goal performance in an 11-10 double-overtime sectional championship win over Skaneateles (NY), once again earning 1st Team All-CNY (small school) recognition with similar production. Over his career, he has accumulated 199 goals, 112 assists, 155 ground balls, and over 259 faceoff attempts with a 62% winning rate.
A hallmark of innovation inside consistency, Chris combines a powerful frame with deceptive speed and footwork. His left-handed dodges, quick release, and vision allow him to beat closeouts, deliver accurate passes under pressure, and generate high-percentage shots from difficult angles. Equally comfortable initiating offense, slipping behind slides, or executing under duress, he is a resourceful playmaker who controls the flow of the offense & is capable of producing in various situations.
Signed to play at the University of Maryland, Chris Doshna brings a multi-dimensional skill set to a program already competing at the national level. From scoring and assisting to his experience on the faceoff X, his versatility and athleticism make him a valuable piece in Testudo’s Upstate pipeline and a player ready to contribute in multiple roles.

Doshna is committed to playing for John Tillman and the Terrapins at Maryland University. The physical midfielder uses his big frame to shoot around or through his matchups with force. When he’s not overpowering the defender, he’s getting in good spots to shoot with both hands, with college-ready step-downs. There is a lot of reminiscence to Eric Spanos. Doshna won’t beat you with his speed and quickness, but he has a great sense of field awareness and uses the defender’s poor approach to his advantage. In the NLF Championship game this past summer, the 6’1″, 200 pound, righty gun-slinger had a rocket of a shot coming off a dodge down the alley.

What a young tandem Marcellus has in Rayfield and Doshna, with each looking to be two of the better midfield prospects to come out of Section 3 in the last few recruiting cycles. Like his club and high school teammate, Doshna demonstrated a knack for scoring in a variety of ways. The lefty separated at will and made plays with flare, tossing a gorgeous assistant to a cutting teammate, scoring on a shovel shot in tight and a leaner, in addition to hitches and smooth shots on the run. He looked to be highly capable with his off-hand, too.
