Piffath is a welcome addition for a St. Joe’s Prep team that graduated several key players on defense last spring. He is a versatile prospect who can run at LSM or close defense. At LSM, Piffath is a poised 1on1 defender in space who can track a ball carrier for long stretches and then cause a turnover via stick checks, lifts, and pokes. Piffath vacuums up ground balls and then can turn on the jets to generate a transition opportunity. His ground ball skills are especially effective on the wing during face offs. At close defense, Piffath does a tremendous job of getting into offensive players with body contact early in their dodge. His ability to apply continuous pressure on a ball carrier’s hands and stick produces frequent turnovers. Piffath is also high IQ defender who communicates well and executes timely slides as well as double teams. During the 2025 season Piffath played at Ridley High School.
