While Buenviaje wasn’t exactly on my radar heading into the weekend, he didn’t take very long to make a strong first impression in Friday night’s showcase, then took off from there. His athleticism and explosiveness first caught my eye: he’s very sudden in his movements, making it hard for his defender to get their paws on him. Most of the time that Buenviaje put his foot in the ground and made his way to the rack, he was able to get his hands free and snap shots off on the run. There are aspects about his game that are still rough around the edges
—  particularly his lacrosse IQ and stick skills — but there’s so much to like about what he brings to the table and what he could become. From what I’ve gathered, he’s someone who has been asked to play a lot of roles for his high school team, but he strikes me as a college midfielder with upside as he polishes his skill.
