Flying under the radar on St. Augustine’s deep roster is this lefty attack / midfielder with a well-rounded offensive skill set. At attack, Cleary thrives at operating from X as both a goal scorer and a feeder. From X he is especially adept at blowing past the initial defender and then turning the corner for a scoring chance along the crease. Cleary has also proven that can dodge from X and then drive up the hash until he can get his hands free for a jump shot. At midfield, Cleary’s speed and cutback abilities make him a dangerous transition threat. Those assets combined with his ability to run through contact allow Cleary to frequently go coast to coast for a goal or an assist. Additionally, Cleary can get downhill from the wing as well as up top and then shoot or distribute at top speed. Cleary’s ability to work in two-man game action is impressive too.
