Watching Enrique at the IMLCA Players Summit in December, he looked primed for a big spring — which is exactly what he delivered while running on the Cardinals’ second midfield. He consistently found himself at the end of plays, often as a result of the hard work he put in off the ball to find seams in the defense. Enrique is excellent off the catch, showing soft hands and a smooth release. Athletically, he’s explosive out of his rollback, has an excellent first step, and possesses the shake to create separation, frequently utilizing fakes to freeze defenders. I expect him to step into an even bigger role next spring for the two-time defending champions, and my hope is that he continues to develop when it comes to dodging to feed, an area where he has already shown strong flashes on the club circuit.
