Coakley is a long, speedy, and technically sound SSDM who can stop an offensive player dead in his tracks anywhere on the field. This gritty prospect gets into dodgers early and often. Once the offensive player is off balance, Coakley will execute a heavy stick check or crowbar that knocks the ball loose. Coakley also will not hesitate to use a shoulder check to create a turnover. He is the rare SSDM who appears comfortable operating on an island. But Coakley really excels once the ball is on the turf. With his quick burst and elite ground ball skills, Coakley pounces on those turnovers and secures possession. Once the ball is in his mesh, the possession is over for the opposing offense as Coakley will then race downfield for a transition scoring opportunity.
